Rita Ashley is a former teacher and co-owner of an Apple Computer dealership. As a development director for a local non-profit, funds were raised, and construction completed for a facility offering family services in an underserved neighborhood. Serving as a legislative aide with considerable experience in Austin, Clerk for the House Public Education Committee during the 82nd Legislative Session, State of Texas, 2005-2009, and former District Director for Senator Tommy Williams, Rita serves as Vice-chair of the Smithsonian Gem and Minerals Collectors Group for the National Museum of Natural History, is a GIA Graduate Germologist, and is owner of Seis Playas Hotel, Restaurant and Event Center located on the Pacific side of Costa Rica.
