Beyond the classroom, we help you build your mindset and skillset to navigate a complex 21st-century landscape by encouraging your participation in High Impact Educational Practices that will serve you in your journey to build the life you want. 

All Reaud Honors students maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher (unless arrived prior to Fall 2023, then 3.4 GPA), as well as fulfill these graduation requirements.

The Reaud Honors College works carefully with chosen partners to present you with experiences unique to Lamar University undergraduates that allow you to expand your worldview of critical issues in education, governance, health, environment, economics, imagination and sustainability.

To further your academic, professional, and personal development, you will participate in at least one High Impact Educational Practice (HIEP), giving you an edge after you graduate.

How You Can Finance Your HIEP

Through RHC...

The Reaud Honors College offers financial support through SCHOLARSHIPS and GRANTS for HIEP activities to students who are on track to achieve Reaud Honors College graduate status in terms of GPA, credit hours in honors and Honors Experiences.

Through LU...

Lamar University also offers avenues of support for student participation in these activities, including the opportunity to be a BECK FELLOW, O.U.R. FELLOW, or MCNAIR SCHOLAR.  LU's campus chapters for honors-affiliated organizations may also assist you in your endeavors, including interdisciplinary honor societies; for discipline-based honor societies, please contact the relevant college for more information.
