Incoming First-Year Students:

Incoming first-year students must have a ranking in the top 10% of their high school graduating class or a GPA of 3.75 or higher in order to be considered for admission to the Reaud Honors College. You also must be TSI exempt.

Applications with standardized test scores are welcomed and considered an additional data point when reviewing your application: minimum SAT of 1260 (critical reading + mathematics) or minimum ACT of 27.

We will review applications once a month. REQUESTED DOCUMENTS:

  • resume sharing outstanding accomplishments;
  • two letters of recommendation;
  • and letter of interest.

Deadline for incoming first-year student applications: June 1. 

To be considered for the Presidential and the Southeast Texas Legends scholarships, students should submit materials by: December 1

To be considered for honors scholarships, students should apply before: February 1.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and community involvement, with consideration also given to academic major, leadership ability and specialized skills (athletics, marching band, music, etc.).

Continuing or Transfer Students:

Students who have completed at least 12 hours of academic courses at Lamar University (or another college or university) and who have a GPA of at least 3.6 may also apply for acceptance into the Reaud Honors College.  

Applications will be reviewed after grades are posted for the semester in which students applied.
