In celebration of Lamar University's Centennial, the university band program will present a special alumni concert band celebration during the weekend of March 25-26, 2023.   Rehearsals will take place in the Music Building and the concert will be in the Julie Rogers Theatre in downtown Beaumont.  Past director Dr. Barry Johnson will be the principal conductor and director of the group, with Dr. Scott Deppe, Dr. Jimmy Simmons, Dr. Andrew McMahan and Dr. Eric Shannon also being involved as guest conductors or performers.  It will be one of the most significant alumni band events in LU history.

Anyone who ever performed in any of the Lamar University band ensembles are invited to register and be a part of this special event.  (Having graduated from LU is not a requirement.)   Also, all Texas band directors are also invited to join us, regardless of alma mater.

This event has no cost whatsoever and the concert itself is free and open to the public. Please review the Frequently Asked Questions and Schedule pages for detailed information.
