Catherine Burch Graham has earned a reputation for creativity and passion during 30 years in integrated communications, the news media and academia. An accredited public relations practitioner, she manages communication efforts for several organizations as principal of CBG Communications. And for the past decade, she has served as a communications instructor teaching journalism, public relations, advertising and crisis communications for Beaumont-based Lamar University and the University of Houston.

Graham honed her skills during two decades in healthcare communications serving several Texas Medical Center institutions, including The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, and LifeGift, an organ and tissue recovery agency covering 109 Texas counties. She gained corporate communications expertise working for Fortune 100 semiconductor giant Texas Instruments, Inc., and wore an agency hat at Pierpont Communications, ranked by the Houston Business Journal as Houston’s top PR agency.

Graham’s passion for communications was nurtured during her years in journalism serving CNN in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., and television and radio outlets in San Antonio and Austin, Texas. Graham is a board member for the Houston chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and served as president of the Houston chapter of Women In Communications.

A native of San Antonio and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, she married fellow Longhorn, Doug Graham, an administrator with Harris County Public Health. Their son, Duncan, is 15. The three are lifelong Houston Astros fans, currently celebrating the team’s 2017 World Series victory.
