Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity

The Cybersecurity program at Lamar University has been designed to increase awareness of the growing threats facing organizations, governments and individuals alike. This program provides you with lifelong learning skills and the ability to defeat adversaries from many perspectives.

Those who choose to major in Cybersecurity at Lamar University will have the opportunity to participate in stipend-based undergraduate research, along with potential intern opportunities. Lamar University has been ranked No. 45 for the Best Affordable Cybersecurity Degree.

The B.S. in Cybersecurity degree is similar to Lamar’s B.S. in Computer Science Degree (BSCS).  The primary difference between the two is the Cybersecurity degree requires six courses not required by the BSCS degree. The courses are:
