The Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at Lamar University offers you several options in terms of focus and an end result: you may choose the B.A. in history as a standalone program or the history teacher certification plan.
You must complete a foreign language, which substitutes for the communication requirement in the core, and 3 semester hours in literature.
You must earn a grade of C or better in all history courses and a C or better in English 1301 and 1302.
An approved minor of 18 semester hours with a grade of C or higher. You are required to take HIST 1301, HIST 1302 and either HIST 2321 or HIST 2322. You must complete 9 hours of advanced (4000-level) electives.
Sufficient approved electives to complete a total of 120 hours. Within the 120-semester hours program there must be a minimum of at least 119 semester hours of courses that may not include physical activity courses, health and wellness courses and intern program courses.
