Cheryl Johnson has taught at Lamar University since 2003. She earned her baccalaureate at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX, and master's degree at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL. She has been teaching on the college level since 1996, and has taught at colleges in Alabama and Georgia before joining the English faculty at LU in 2003. She is the author of the Benny the Dachshund children's book series, which includes the first two books, Benny Finds a Home and Benny Learns a Lesson. She is working on the third book in the series, Benny Meets the Junction Boy.
