The School of Accounting & Information Systems at Lamar University’s College of Business is proud to announce that the college's undergraduate accounting program has earned endorsement by Institute of Management Accountants®.

Dr. Terri Davis, associate professor and department chair of political science, has been awarded the David J. Beck Teaching Excellence Award. Annually, the David J. Beck Teaching Excellence Award, established though a gift from LU distinguished alumnus David J. Beck, rewards one faculty member who excels as a teacher or otherwise brings significant honor to Lamar University through innovative instructional pedagogy. The award carries with it a check of $25,000.

The Center for Recovery and Resiliency is set to host their third annual Resilience and Recovery Summit on Monday, April 4-5.

Lamar University recently appointed Dr. Cristian Bahrim, professor of physics, as the director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. Bahrim has served as interim director of the OUR since September of 2019 and assumed the role of director in February for a term of three years.

Lamar University’s petition to establish a circle of national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa was recently approved by the organization’s Board of Trustees. The university officially chartered the chapter on Thursday, March 3 after inducting more than 40 Lamar University faculty, staff, administrators and student leaders.
