Information for Students

Students from our partner universities, with whom Lamar University has an existing exchange agreement with, are welcome to study at Lamar University on exchange for one semester or an entire academic year. How to Study Abroad at Lamar University

If a student from one of our partner institutions would like to study with us for a semester or academic year, they are encouraged to contact their home institution's office of international affairs or study abroad. Their home institution will be able to provide information regarding application materials and required documents. To prepare in advance, you should gather your official transcripts, TOEFL score, a copy of your passport, and immunization records. There will be additional documents that you will be required to fill out, which will be provided for you by your home institution.

Your international officer will need to submit a nomination form on your behalf through the Nominate An Exchange Student button below. Once you are nominated, you can submit the Student Exchange Application. Our deadlines are as follows:

Fall: Nomination due March 15 / Application due April 15

Spring: Nomination due August 15 / Application due September 15

Housing

Upon acceptance to Lamar University, students must decide on their housing arrangements. Exchange students are strongly encouraged to seek on-campus housing in the dormitories. For more information about on-campus housing visit Housing and Residence Life.
