Honors Student Association

The Honors Student Association (HSA) of Lamar University was formed during the fall semester of 2000 and officially chartered in spring of 2001. The purpose of the HSA is to serve as the vehicle whereby Honors College students can organize their own activities and by means of which they can become fully engaged with University life. The Honors Student Association is regularly named “Student Organization of the Year” among professional and departmental organizations on campus. The HSA meets monthly during long semesters. There are three standing committees – Community Service Committee, Campus Involvement Committee and Events Committee. The Executive Committee of the HSA – comprised of the President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer, Committee chairs, and SGA Representative – acts as the student advisory body to the Honor College Dean.
