4+1 Program

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a combined program that allows students to receive a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Studies in as few as 5 years.

Highlights of the program include:

• Combined coursework including advanced undergraduate and graduate work
• Flexibility to begin taking classes toward a master’s degree during your senior year of undergraduate studies
• Up to six credits (at the 5XXX level or higher) to be taken as an undergraduate student with a maximum of six credits allowed to be shared between the undergraduate and graduate degrees

We recommend taking the GRE so we have more information to base acceptance on, especially for those students who do not have a high GPA or have not graduated from an ABET accredited program.
