COVID-19 Updates for the College of Engineering

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the GRE is optional for master's applicants in Spring 2022 and Summer 2022. The GRE will be required for all students who apply after November 1, 2021 for the Fall 2022 and later semesters. The GRE requirement is waived for students who graduated from ABET accredited engineering programs. Lamar University College of Engineering offers a mixture of on campus, hybrid and online courses. Please contact your academic department of interest for more information.


The College of Engineering encompasses five academic departments. Each department offers ABET-accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs which focus on producing engineers who are ready to take on the current challenges in their chosen industry and our world.

Graduate Program

The College of Engineering welcomes all graduate student applicants. Qualified graduate students are offered out-of-state tuition waivers plus $1000/year general graduate scholarships. Highly qualified students are offered assistantships with tuition waivers. Please see the individual program pages for more information.
