Program Description

You may apply for the Professional Preparation Program for Principal Certification if you hold a regionally-accredited master’s degree in any field.  The program allows educators to continue their professional development in school leadership and administration.

You must also hold a teaching certificate and two years of practical teaching experience. As necessary, LU Admissions staff will initiate waivers of any experience or certification requirements in instances where they may not apply, such as applications from states that do not require certification for licensure. Those applicants who intend to certify in Texas must have a Texas teaching certificate.

You are required to complete 18 hours of coursework as outlined in the degree plan, after which we will issue you a certificate of completion.
