Follow these steps to officially become an LU student. If you have questions or need guidance, reach out to your local admission counselor! He/she will be happy to help you through the transition.

1 - Activate Acccount - Click For Details

You must activate your LU Email account to receive important information from Financial Aid, Housing, and other campus services. 

Go to lamar.edu/activate to log in using your (LEA) username.

2 - Financial Aid and Scholarships - Click for Details

Financial Aid & Scholarships

The priority deadline is Feb. 1 for scholarships and Jan. 15 for financial aid.

Even if you missed the deadlines, you might still be eligible if funds are available.

3 - Register for Orientation - click for details

Register for New Student Orientation

At orientation, you will learn how to get involved, meet campus leaders, learn LU traditions and meet fellow Cardinals and receive your class schedule! NSO is mandatory for all incoming freshmen.

UPDATE 4/14/20: Keeping with social distancing practices, all NSO dates have been moved to an online format! Students are required to register the date of their choice. 

Register online and learn more about virtual NSO at lamar.edu/orientation!

4 - Apply for Housing - Click for Details

Apply for Housing

Did you know all first-year freshman are required to live on campus? Applying is easy through Housing and Residence Life. Just use your LEA information to log in and pay your down payment online!

Are you a local student looking to commute to campus? You will have to fill out the online exemption form. Need more info? Visit Residence Life today.


5 - Records and Transcripts - Click for Details

Send Records and Transcripts

If you previously took college classes, have the college or university send your official transcript to LU.

If you took any Advanced Placement examinations, send official scores to LU by calling the College Board at 1-877-274-6474.

You'll get an email notification after your credit has been applied to your LU record.
