Transfer Students

Transfer Student

Lamar University is a great place to continue your academic journey!  Transfer students are undergraduate students who attended another college or university.  Transfer students with less than 18 transferable credit hours will have to meet freshmen standards for admission.

To qualify for transfer admission, students should have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for all work attempted and be eligible to re-enter all colleges and universities previously attended.

Those transferring fewer than 18 credit hours also should have SAT or ACT scores sent to Lamar University by the testing agency. Use SAT Code 6360 or ACT Code 4114. Submit all transfer application materials no later than August 1 for fall and no later than January 2 for spring.

Transfer students should submit an online application through the statewide Apply Texas system. Students should also have official copies of all prior college and university transcripts sent to Lamar University, regardless of the length of attendance and whether credit was earned.

Transcripts should be sent to:
Lamar University Admissions Office
P.O. Box 10009
Beaumont TX 77710
