Our Division of Student Engagement is here to facilitate your transition into Lamar University, support your growth, and prepare you for personal and professional life after college. STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

jonah smithJonah Smith, a Sophomore from Port Neches, is a Student Orientation Coordinator and an LU Ambassador. Jonah is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Communication.



jada bowie-colemanJada Bowie-Coleman, a Junior from Destrehan, Louisiana, is an Orientation Leader and an LU Ambassador. Jada is majoring in American Sign Language.



eliseo guzmanEliseo Guzman, a Senior from Kirbyville, is an Orientation Leader. Eliseo is majoring in Management.




vy nguyenVy Nguyen, a Sophomore from Vietnam, is an Orientation Leader. Vy is majoring in Math and Education.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Each year, the State of Texas seeks applicants for non-voting student representatives to the Texas State University System (TSUS) Board of Regents and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Students selected for these positions play an important part in representing the students of each Texas public university.

Applicants must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA, be able to attend required TSUS or THECB meetings, and have a strong drive and self-motivation to contribute to the progress of higher education in Texas. Applications must be submitted no later that December 10, 2022 to the Office of the Vice President of Student Engagement, Setzer Student Center 230.
