Drop Information and Instructions

Students must send their request to drop a class by email to apregistration@lamar.edu. The request must include their name, L#, and the class they want to drop. Please cc your academic advisor in the email.

VA and Financial Aid students should reach out to that department before requesting to drop any class.

Types of Drops:

  • Drop with a refund. Refer to the academic calendar for this drop deadline.
  • Drop without academic penalty and no refund. Dropped courses will show as a "Q" on the transcript. Refer to the academic calendar for this drop deadline.
  • Drop with academic penalty and no refund. Courses dropped after the last drop deadline will show as an "F" on the transcript.

Proctoring Services

Some classes utilize online proctoring through Honorlock to best ensure test integrity. The syllabus from the instructor will cover if online proctoring is used. Courses that utilize Honorlock will need a webcam and microphone.

Course Capacity and Professor Availability

Both course capacity and professor can change prior to the course beginning. Students can stay apprised of changes through their Self-Service banner.

Graduation

Students must apply for graduation during their final semester. Find out all of the requirements and steps to apply for graduation here.
