During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lamar University College of Engineering has temporarily waived the requirement to take the GRE for admission consideration in the summer and fall 2020 semesters. Applications will be evaluated based on academic record. Lamar University has temporarily waived all application fees during this time. For more information, see our Covid-19 admissions page.

 

Lamar University College of Engineering will also offer courses online for students in the summer 2020 for students unable to travel to campus.

Each department offers ABET-accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs which focus on producing engineers who are ready to take on the current challenges in their chosen industry and our world. COLLEGE SPOTLIGHT

Mechanical Engineering student's project chosen for development for the NASA Artemis Program.

Dr. Cagatay Tokgoz was awarded a patent to advance wireless sensing and monitoring technologies as well as wireless collection of data from aerospace systems on commercial and military aircraft and rotorcraft.

Sabine River Authority donates $100,000 to Southeast Texas flood mitigation study.

Dr. Qiang Xu was awarded the 2020 University Professor Award.

Dr. Chun-wei Yao, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, published a study analyzing the corrosion-resistance of a superhydrophobic coating manufactured in their lab.

Graduate Program

The College of Engineering welcomes all graduate student applicants. Qualified graduate students are offered out-of-state tuition waivers plus $1000/year general graduate scholarships. Highly qualified students are offered assistantships with tuition waivers. Please see the individual program pages for more information.
