Applying to a Supervised Practice Program

Upon earning a B.S. degree in dietetics from Lamar University and earning a verification statement, students are eligible to apply to a supervised practice program (e.g., Lamar university's Dietetics Internship program).

Applying to a Supervised Practice Program

Carefully research the supervised practice programs that you are most interested in. We recommend students apply to more than one program to increase their chances of being matched to a program. You can view programs and program handbooks by visiting the Accredited Programs Directory on the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' website.

You will need to register with both Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Services (DICAS) and D&D Digital.

Review the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics application process for students for additional details.

DICAS

DICAS is an online applicant portal offering a centralized application process for matching to a supervised practice program.

DICAS charges a fee of $50 for the first application and $25 for each additional application. These fees are in addition to any application fee the individual dietetics internship program charges (see each DI program's handbook).

You can apply to as many DI programs as you like. Just be aware that you will have to pay an application fee for each program you apply to.

D&D Digital

D&D Digital coordinates the computer matching process between applicants and supervised practice programs.
D&D Digital charges a $65 fee upon registration.
