The Center for History and Culture of Southeast Texas and the Upper Gulf Coast will bring together, under one umbrella, all the resources, personnel, and programs related to “transforming the communities of Southeast Texas and beyond.”
It will provide quality educational programs, creative activities, and high profile niche research opportunities. With a core emphasis on Energy, it will generate innovative and relevant knowledge that addresses regional, national, and global possibilities. This “branding” will differentiate the Center from other institutions and promote the cultural and economic vitality of Southeast Texas and the Upper Gulf Coast.
