Joseph W. Tacy PhD, RN, CNE

Please receive my warm welcome to you from the JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing at Lamar University! We are located in Beaumont, Texas and serve Southeast Texas in Baccalaureate and Graduate educational programs.

Our faculty include skilled educators, scholars, and clinicians who remain supportive and resilient adapting their teaching practices to support student success, thus producing phenomenal outcomes for our students. These outcomes demonstrate that Lamar University Cardinal Nurses make a difference in the quality of healthcare and fully embrace our spirit of caring.

Programmatically, the Dishman School of Nursing focuses on nursing education, in partnership our communities of interest and continues over 45 years of excellence. Our pre-licensure BSN NCLEX rates historically have set examples of our high educational standards. The success of our RN to BSN and graduate programs is felt through our continued success stories from our students, alumni, and communities of interest. In our Edna Gay Horn Learning Center, we strive to engage students through simulation standards and to innovate extraordinary learning experiences to create a safe and effecting learning environment where our students think, tinker, and thrive.

We are excited about the many opportunities Lamar University Dishman School of Nursing has to offer our students, faculty, staff and alumni. We look forward to your engagement and support with our University, College, and School; Your Moment is Here!
