FAQ

Who can attend Cardinal View?

Cardinal View is designed for prospective students and their guests. High school juniors, seniors, transfer students, family members and guests are encouraged to attend.

Do I need to register?

Yes, you need to register online at lamar.edu/cardinalview at least one day prior to Cardinal View.  Register early to ensure your spot is reserved. 

What are the hours of Cardinal View?

Cardinal View will begin with Check-In at 8:00 a.m., and sessions will end at approximately 12:30 p.m.

What does it cost to attend?

Cardinal View is free of charge! Lunch will not be provided, but Lamar University's Dining Hall and various food options on campus will have food available for purchase. 

What happens if it rains?

Cardinal View will not be canceled if it rains. Please be sure to check the weather before you visit so that you can be prepared. 

Can I meet with an Admissions Counselor while on campus?

Absolutely! You will have the opportunity to visit with your designated Admissions Counselor upon arrival during the Opening Session. This will be your chance to have your questions answered and be able to discuss documentation needed for admission. 

Are campus tours available and do I need to register for a tour?

Guided campus tours will be available as one of your breakout sessions. Registration for campus tours will not be required.

Do I need to check-in at any particular location?

Yes, check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. in the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center at 4405 Jimmy Simmons Blvd.
