Scheduling Your Advising Appointment

To schedule an appointment, please stop by the Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) or call us at (409) 880-8822.  For mandatory advising appointments, you will be emailed an appointment campaign from your advisor to schedule your appointment.

Although you will have regular required meetings with your UAC advisor, you are encouraged to schedule appointments whenever you have questions. Most students, in fact, meet with their advisor a few times per semester.

Advising appointments are available weekdays only and must be scheduled 18 hours in advance. You will receive an email confirmation to your LU Email account with the details of your appointment. You will also receive a reminder email the morning of your appointment. 

Plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Students can check-in for appointments using the advising kiosk by the front door.  If you arrive late for your appointment, please check-in at the front desk. If you check-in late, you may not be seen by your advisor and will instead need to reschedule.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please call the UAC to avoid being recorded as a "no show" appointment and to make that time available for another student appointment.

Urgent Questions/Problems

Students who have urgent questions or problems should contact their UAC advisor directly.  If an immediate decision or answer is needed, you can check with the front desk staff at the UAC to see if your advisor is available for a quick walk-in advising meeting.  During peak advising times your advisor may not be available for a walk-in meeting and should be contacted directly via email or phone.

Walk-in Advising

Advisors will see students on a walk-in basis for schedule changes during the two weeks prior to the start of the Fall and Spring semesters.  Walk-in advising meetings are also typically available around deadlines to drop and add classes.
