Lamar University will host its annual Department of Communication and Media Student Film Showcase on Thursday, April 23, offering student filmmakers the opportunity to present their work to a public audience at the Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with screenings beginning at 6 p.m.
Held each spring semester, the showcase features a variety of student-produced films and digital media projects, highlighting the storytelling and technical skills developed within the university’s communication and media programs. The event provides students with a platform to present their work in a professional setting while gaining experience engaging with a live audience.
The showcase also brings together students, local filmmakers, content creators and industry professionals, creating opportunities for networking, collaboration and mentorship within the regional film community.
Open to the public, the event invites community members and film enthusiasts to support emerging filmmakers while experiencing original work created by Lamar University students.
