1. Snap a Photo with Big Red and Lu
You can’t pass up an opportunity to take a couple of selfies with arguably our two most photogenic and enthusiastic Cardinal mascots – Big Red and Lu! These two may not say much, but a picture’s worth a thousand words!

2. Visit the Spindletop Gusher
The Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown Museum is one of the many gems that makes our campus so unique. The Spindletop Gusher was a significant moment in U.S. history and you can experience a reenactment of that event and what life was like in that time right here on campus! 3. Duck Pond Picnic
Take a break from the busier parts of campus and relax at the beautiful and quiet duck pond – it’s a perfect area for a study picnic or just a nice picnic meal.

4. Visit Gator Country...if you dare
You definitely want to check out this unique attraction. You can feed baby gators or even swim with them! No worries if that’s not your thing – Gator Country offers swamp boat tours, petting zoos, educational shows and more.

5. Relax on the Setzer Center balcony
Grab a coffee from Starbucks and sit on the rocking chairs overlooking the beautiful quadrangle area of campus from a cardinal’s-eye view! Watch the sunrise if you are an early bird or sunset if you’re more of a night owl.

6. Pose for a picture in front of the “Your Moment is Here” mural
We’re all about capturing memories here at LU. We put our slogan on a mural to help students celebrate their time and opportunities at LU. Take plenty of photos for social media, scrapbooks, to send to parents, or just to have as a keepsake.

7. Catch a movie at the classic Jefferson Theatre
A movie at the Jefferson is perfect for a nostalgic night of vintage-style entertainment. Snap a photo under the beautiful and bright “Jefferson” sign outside on your way out if you’re feeling fancy. For more info visit www.beaumonteventstx.com.

8. Visit Big Thicket National Park
Spending time in nature is a great way to relieve stress and relax. You can explore the park on foot or by boat! Kayaking through the waterways is a beautiful tour and a great arm workout! Learn more at www.beaumontcvb.com.

9. Visit the Art Museum of Southeast Texas and the Museum of the Gulf Coast

10. Watch football at Provost Umphrey Stadium
