The secure wireless network is available to everyone all across campus and is free to use – all you need is a wireless-compatible device! Learn how to get started.

APPLE IOS
- First, make sure your device is IOS 5 or higher.
- From your wireless settings, connect to WiFi network called “joinLU”.
- Open Safari and go to wifi.lamar.edu.
- When it’s done you will see instructions on connecting to the LU secure network.
- Tada! You’re safely and securely connected. Enjoy!
ANDROID DEVICE
- First things first. Make sure your device is Android 4.0 or higher.
- From your wireless settings, connect to WiFi network called “joinLU”.
- Open your browser and go to wifi.lamar.edu.
- Follow the steps as the wizard guides you through the connection process. You’ll be asked to install the free XpressConnect app.
- Once you’ve downloaded the app, tap the back button. You won’t need to open the app yet.
- Here, you’ll want to select “Configure your Device”, which will now launch the XpressConnect app by default. If not, make sure to select it.
- Follow the steps within the app and set a password if you need to.
- If you’ve done it right, you’ll receive a “Success” message.
- Ta-da! You’re safely and securely connected. Enjoy!
MAC
- Make sure your iMac is operating on Lion 10.7 or higher.
- From your wireless settings, connect to WiFi network called “joinLU”.
- Open Safari and go to wifi.lamar.edu.
- When it’s done you will see instructions on connecting to the LU secure network.
- Tada! You’re safely and securely connected. Enjoy!
CHROME BOOK
- From your wireless settings, connect to WiFi network called “joinLU”.
- Open your Chrome browser and go to wifi.lamar.edu.
- Follow the steps as the wizard guides you through the connection process. You will probably see 2-3 pop-ups. Don’t worry! These are helping to connect you to our secure network.
- Tada! You’re safely and securely connected. Enjoy!
LINUX
- Be sure your Linux distros are Ubuntu 9.04 and Fedora 18 or higher.
- From your wireless settings, connect to WiFi network called “joinLU”
- Open your browser and go to wifi.lamar.edu.
- Follow the steps as the wizard guides you through the connection process. You will probably see 2-3 pop-ups. Don’t worry! These are helping to connect you to our secure network.
- Tada! You’re safely and securely connected. Enjoy!
WINDOWS
- You’ll need to be using Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1, 10 in order to connect securely.
- From your wireless settings, connect to the WiFi network called "joinLU".
- Open your browser and visit a great website, like lamar.edu.
- You’ll be re-directed to a secure connection wizard. This is normal. If for some reason you are not re-directed, go to wifi.lamar.edu.
- Follow the steps as the wizard guides you through the connection process. You will probably see 2-3 pop-ups. Don’t worry! These are helping to connect you to our secure network.
- Tada! You’re safely and securely connected. Enjoy!
