POSTPONED _ Port and Maritime Research Showcase

The Research Showcase has been POSTPONED out of an abundance of caution. 

The Center for Advances in Port Management is hosting a university-wide Port and Maritime Research Showcase on April 1, 2020, in the CICE Building’s Hatchery. This event is intended to showcase the breadth and depth of groundbreaking port, freight transportation and maritime research being undertaken by LU faculty across disciplines, as well as to offer opportunities for cross-disciplinary networking. The event will feature a poster session and an opportunity for faculty to interact with industry partners.

Professional Certificate in Port Management Now Available Online!

The Center for Advances in Port Management and the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Partner for the Industry Recognized Port Certificate (IRPC).

The IRPC is a professional professional development certificate program focused on enhancing the participant’s fundamental knowledge of the port industry and to introduce them to AAPA and the greater port professional community. The Center has partnered with AAPA to develop relevant curriculum for the modern port professional’s needs. The IRPC program participants apply to the MS in Port and Terminal Management program and take the master level course "Introduction to Port and Marine Terminal Management" (INEN 5302).

The Center for Advances in Port Management is dedicated to preparing the port and marine terminal operating industry for 21st century challenges and opportunities through advanced education and research.

Established in the fall of 2015 through the generosity and foresight of the State of Texas, the Center is supported primarily by the colleges of business and engineering. Erik Stromberg has served as the Center’s first executive director since May, 2016.
