Presently Dr. Snook is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at Lamar University. Additionally, she is a board-certified counselor who specializes in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and supervising counselors in training. Dr. Snook is also an advocate and mentor for members of the LGBTQIA population as well as individuals with disabilities. She is a member and active participant in several counseling service organizations. Her research interests include but are not limited to:

  • Perceptions of wellness from adults with mobility impairments (Dissertation)
  • Wellness & wellness models
  • Advocacy for disabled population
  • Advocacy for LGBTQ population
  • Application of Person-centered, Feminist theory, and Solution-focused techniques in supervision

In the summer of 2017, Dr. Snook was awarded the National Wellness Institute’s Excellence Award for her research surrounding wellness and advocacy for adults with mobility impairments.

2017 National Wellness Institute Award of Excellence presented at the International Wellness Conference, St. Paul MN

2011-2013 TPEG Graduate Resident Scholarship, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Received $2000 in scholarships over the course of two years.

2011-2013 College of Education, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Received $1,500 in scholarships over the course of three semesters.  Rising Scholar Graduate Scholarship, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Received $8,000 in scholarships over the course of four years.
