Workshops

This is a picture of our Commercialization Associate, Tejus Mane, speaking to students and faculty in the Hatchery about the Cardinal Rise program and the first steps to commercializing their technologies.

The CICE Commercialization Workshop known as Cardinal Rise was designed to educate and train Lamar University STEM graduate, undergraduate students and faculty working on CICE innovation projects to understand the fundamentals of commercialization and how it applies to their project. Science and Engineering students often for the first time learn the distinction between commercialization and research, the need for customer requirements to drive design, basics of project management, the importance of IP, and become adept at technical presentation skills.

In the latest cohort, we trained 11 students over 8 workshops covering topics such as:

  • Customer Discovery
  • Value Proposition
  • Intellectual Property & Patents
  • Competitive Positioning
  • Lean Canvas
  • Presentation Bootcamp

If you are a Lamar University student or faculty looking to commercialize your research project or personal ideas, reach out to tmane@lamar.edu for information regarding the next cohort.
