Innovation, Education, and Experiences

The Venture Center promotes experiential learning and co-curricular activities in innovation and entrepreneurship at Lamar University. We help students in whatever walk of life they choose, be it a technology startup, government agency, small business, or large corporation. The VC provides educational programs and workshops which teach frameworks for solving problems and navigating ambiguity. Our programs help students and faculty
  • Identify critical problems and market opportunities to develop validated solutions to meet these needs 
  • Develop methodologies to better understand customers, users, clients, and team members
  • Provide an environment to work in interdisciplinary teams and in communicating messaging across industries.

Incubator

The Venture Center's startup accelerator aids starting or growing businesses. We offer critical insight to managers as well as a strong connection to our entrepreneurial network. Learn about current clients and how to apply


CICE Innovation Grants (CIGs)

The VC provides start-up funding for a new direction or continuing early support of existing research or creative activities for topics that have strong commercialization opportunity. View past recipients


Collaborative Research and Projects

The VC works with professors across campus to collaborate on research for developing breakthrough innovations, often which come from development of basic science and engineering. The VC focuses on linking laboratory science to the market. The papers displayed here are usually interdisciplinary teams in the first steps of research and used to foster an innovative atmosphere across campus. View articles
