Lamar University Alumni Homecoming Pre-Game Party Saturday, November 4, 2023 1:00pm-3:00pm

At some point, all of us have called this address HOME.

For some of us, we may have used an atlas to initially find our way.  Others of us, we spoke into our smartphones and an app told us where to turn. For others, it was a familiar drive across town. But no matter how we found our way, the place that began as college, eventually became our home.

We all have a different address now, but wherever you are and however you may find your way back, we hope you'll come home to 4400 S M King Jr Parkway on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Homecoming is a time to reflect on the past and celebrate where our graduates and our university are today as we celebrate 100 years! The blending of new experiences with old friends during each homecoming makes the Lamar University community ever stronger. Whether you graduated in 2023, 1973, somewhere in between or before, we hope you will return to campus for Homecoming 2023 and share in the legacy you helped build. Cardinals of all ages along with their friends and family are invited to join us for Homecoming! A alumni pre-game party will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center on the Billy Tubbs Basketball Court for those who pre-register. Registration closes on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 5:00pm as seating is limited. The registration fee for this event is $20 per person and includes: a meal, dessert, 2 drink tickets (your choice of beer, water or soda), LU Spirit Item, and a green section football game ticket for Homecoming (a $68 value). There will also be games, facepainting, temporary tattoos, and a selfie station. Children 3 and under are free.

*Note: Homecoming Football game tickets will be handed out upon arrival to the pre-game party. Game tickets not picked up by 3:00pm, will be placed at Will-Call at Gate 1.

  • 10:00am-2:30pm FanFest - Montagne Center Parking Lot A-5 - includes Carnival Rides (waivers are required to ride the rides and parents must accompany children under 18)
  • 10:00am-2:30pm Tailgating - LU Campus
  • 12:00pm-4:00pm Flatbed Press: A Selection of Contemporary Prints (First Floor Gallery) and Liminal: Photographs by Cathy Spence (Second Floor Gallery) - Dishman Art Museum

Football Game

Lamar University vs. Texas A&M-Commerce Football Game kickoff is at 3:00pm at Provost Umphrey Stadium. Lamar University Alumni who register for the Alumni Pre-Game party will receive green section tickets included with their event registration. 

Lamar University Alumni not attending the Alumni Pre-Game Party may purchase tickets in the green section in advance at the discounted price of $10 each. Tickets may be purchased online, or by calling the Lamar University Ticket Office at 409-880-1715, or visiting the ticket office in the Montagne Center in person before game day by Friday, November 3, 2023. Be sure to ask for the Lamar University Alumni discount when calling or visiting in person. Discounted tickets will not be available on game day.

Hotel/Lodging

Blocks of rooms have been reserved at the MCM Eleganté Hotel, 2355 I-10 S, Beaumont, TX 77705, for the reduced rate of $94/night plus tax for a Deluxe Double or Deluxe King or $124/night plus tax for a King Suite. All rooms include a Mini Refrigerator and Microwave and hotel amenities include a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, complimentary guest laundry, free parking, free in-room wifi, outdoor pool, 24/7 fitness center, and free shuttle to and from the Jack Brooks Regional Airport and within the Beaumont city limits.
