Health Education - About
The LU Health Education Department provides health education and outreach to Lamar University and Lamar Institute of Technology students through campus-wide events, awareness campaigns, interactive programs, lectures and presentations, and individual consultation and referrals.
Our goal is to enhance student learning and personal development through health education and promotion. We strive to promote the health of the overall campus community through primary prevention and public health services.
Health Education Services and Programs Include:
- Drug/alcohol abuse prevention
- Nutrition and wellness
- Mental health and stress management
- Healthy relationships/relationship safety
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Sexual health and wellness
- Sexual assault and bystander intervention
- Building healthy habits
- Seminars/lectures

LU Health Education also features the Healthy Cards Program which allows students of any major to work as a Peer Health Educator!
