Cardinals Closet

No student should go without a winter jacket or a pair of shoes. Clothing insecurity is a public health concern and something that our students may experience.

To help students in need of basic clothing and shoes, Health Education has developed a clothing closet that operates on a point system. Anyone needing clothes can pick up items from the Cardinals Closet using their points, and their points will reload each month to allow them multiple visits.

The Cardinals Closet is housed in the same space as the Cardinals Pantry, making food and clothing easily accessible for students across campus. The food pantry is a service developed by the Wesley Foundation here at LU. For more information about the Pantry portion of this service please follow this link!

Each third Monday of the month, the Cardinals Closet is closed due to the Food Pantry receiving their monthly donations. Due to the busy and crowded nature of the Pantry on shipment days, the Closet closes to allow the Pantry to run more efficiently. Thank you for understanding!

Operations

Healthy Cards and the Wesley Foundation staff work and volunteer at the Cardinals Closet.

PHEs process donations by evaluating them for rips, tears, and quality, and then tag the clothing and write the point value on each item before hanging them up on the clothing racks.
