Cheer Team Clinics

The Lamar University Cheerleading program hosts recruiting clinics each Spring semester. These clinics are open to all high school juniors and seniors and college students interested in becoming a cheerleader at the collegiate level.

LU Cheer clinics are a great way to see what the LU Cheer Team is all about. Participants will practice with current team members and learn new skills from our highly trained coaching staff. Clinics focus on stunting, tumbling (based on ability), basic through advanced skills, and tips and techniques for tryouts.

Clinics are not mandatory to become an LU Cheerleader but are highly encouraged.

LU Cheer clinics are closed to the public. Parents, families, and spectators will not be allowed in the gym during class.

Spring 2023 Cheer Clinic

Date: Saturday, April 29, 2023
Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Check-in begins at 9:15 am
Attire: Proper attire is required: athletic wear, shorts, and tennis shoes. No loose clothing. Bring your own water bottle.
Location: Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center
Price: $20 paid online at the time of registration

2023-24 Cheer Team Tryouts

Tryout Process:

1. Register using the link below.
2. Receive a link to join the tryout Band.
3. Follow the instructions provided to submit tryout videos.
