“With 8-week courses enabling completion in one year, the program is tailored for students aspiring to an advanced degree to excel in public relations, advertising, marketing communication, corporate communication, health communication, political communication, and other fast-growing areas of communication,” Associate Professor of Communication Dr. Qingjiang Yao said.

The curriculum is crafted to address the current and future challenges of strategic communicators, providing a comprehensive understanding of the evolving landscape.

"It will provide students with a theoretical understanding of ethical strategic communication and advanced skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, digital or social media communication, problem-solving, and leadership that empower them for advancement and promotion in various positions and organizations in multi-disciplinary or cultural contexts,” Dr. Yao said.

The online format, combined with the program's flexibility and focus on hands-on learning, aims to make advanced education accessible to working professionals without disrupting their careers.

“It is the only online master of science program in strategic communication program in Texas and one of the few nationwide and globally,” Dr. Yao said.

The College of Fine Arts and Communication encourages early applications for admission to the program, as the first cohort is set to commence classes in March.
