LU Crew shares wisdom for prospective Cardinals

Lamar University is hosting its largest open house event of the semester, Cardinal View, on Saturday, November 11, which will welcome over 900 prospective Cardinals to campus. During the event, potential students will have the opportunity to explore all aspects of campus life, including academic majors, financial aid, scholarships, student organizations, and campus resources.  
 
To kick things off, members of the LU Crew share their favorite aspects of Cardinal View and offer insights on how future Cardinals can prepare for their journey at LU:

What's your favorite aspect of Cardinal View? 
All the events and activities are fun, and it’s exciting to meet new people because campus is small, but it feels like home.  

Do you have any insider tips or recommendations to get the most out of Cardinal View? 
Go get yourself a free breakfast on campus. 

What advice would you give to prospective Cardinals? 
Visit the Welcome Center and get a tour.  

Any additional information that anyone should know? 
Stop by the photo booth and use the hashtag #LUBound for a chance at a scholarship.

What's your favorite aspect of Cardinal View? 
It’s fun getting everyone together on campus and getting a feel for Lamar. It’s a big day and there’s a lot going on.  

Do you have any insider tips or recommendations to get the most out of Cardinal View? 
Be patient because it’s a lot of movement and there’s a lot going on. Also, focus on what you want to get out of Cardinal View.  

What advice would you give to prospective Cardinals? 
When you make it on campus, get connected because that’s where your best opportunities are going to come from.

Have fun and enjoy it.

The best thing is meeting prospective students and seeing what the future of Lamar University is going to look like. 

Do you have any insider tips or recommendations to get the most out of Cardinal View? 
Follow the agenda book and look at what’s being offered and seek out what you might find interesting.  

What advice would you give to prospective Cardinals?
 
Get involved and meet new people and make friends, do not hide your entire first year. You have to get yourself out there.  

Any additional information that anyone should know? 
Don’t forget to have fun because it is a good day and there are good vibes all around.

What's your favorite aspect of Cardinal View? 
My favorite part is the academic showcase in the recreational sports gym because it shows all the great programs that we offer.  

Do you have any insider tips or recommendations to get the most out of Cardinal View? 
I
f you have a question, go get your answers because Cardinal View is the best day for it. Of course, you can always look things up online, but the face-to-face interaction and being able to talk to departments and students is always helpful. 

What advice would you give to prospective Cardinals? 
Get as involved on campus as much as you can because that always brings the best opportunities and connections. 

Any additional information that anyone should know? 
Have fun and pay attention. If something catches your eye, ask questions and pursue it.

Getting to see the resources, departments, and opportunities come together, and helping prospective students get a view of Cardinal life.  

Do you have any insider tips or recommendations to get the most out of Cardinal View? 
One-on-one conversation with departments and resources is very helpful in getting a head start on becoming a part of the community, because the more you put your face out there, the more people will recognize you.   

What advice would you give to prospective Cardinals? 
Be intentional with asking questions and following what you’re interested in, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and get involved. It will bring the most opportunities to you.
