Full-time recipients of the Motiva Endowed Scholarship will be awarded an annual sum of $5,000, which will be distributed evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Part-time recipients will receive an annual award of $2,500, also distributed evenly between semesters.

The initial endowment for the Motiva Endowed Scholarship amounts to $100,000, which will be supplemented with annual gifts of $15,000. Furthermore, Motiva has pledged an additional award supplement of $35,000 specifically for scholarship recipients during the upcoming fall 2023 and spring 2024 academic year.

Motiva is committed to promoting a healthy economy in the Golden Triangle, which includes providing sustainable job opportunities for Southeast Texas residents. Motiva’s global energy impact starts with community and endures thanks to ongoing educational and research support for Lamar University. This endowment was established to financially support the educational goals of Southeast Texas residents.

“Lamar University deeply appreciates Motiva’s generosity and celebrates this opportunity to partner with local industry, thereby accomplishing their mutual objective of providing and securing talented, well-prepared scientists, engineers, and business professionals for the benefit of our entire region,” Spoeri said.
