The Texas Academy at Lamar University celebrated 21 high school graduates on May 5, 2023. Students in the academy exclusively take college courses alongside the undergraduates as they complete 11^th and 12^th grade.

The Class of 2023 received acceptances to 32 different universities and a scholarship total of over $2.1 million. Ten of these scholars are continuing their studies at Lamar University.

These students were active in Texas Academy Clubs, Lamar University Organizations, and various service-oriented activities at Stable Spirits, Southeast Texas Food Bank, Hope Women’s Center, Community Garden and many more. They also received grants for research, worked on-campus jobs such as a videographer for Lamar Athletics, tutors in the STARS Tutoring Center and were recognized for high honors such as National Merit Scholars.
