“What I’m looking forward to the most is just being a part of this process and learning,” Stinson said. “I enjoy teaching and I hope that I can take the knowledge that I learn during this time and pass it along.”

Stinson, a Lumberton native, is a member of the Texas Nurses Association, American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She is also a member and medical educator with the Gift of Life program. With 47 years of experience in the field, Stinson serves as the only medical nurse on the board.

“I’m the first person in my family to go to college and I graduated in the very first nursing class here at Lamar University. If there’s one thing that I know, it’s nursing” Stinson said. “I hope that with this opportunity I can make everyone proud and really make a difference.”
