Lamar University Office of Alumni Affairs Announces 2021-2022 Alumni Advisory Board

The Lamar University Alumni Advisory Board has elected Nga “Tea” (Nguyen) Do ’08 of Beaumont to serve as 2021-2022 president. Fred Vernon ’12, ’13 of Port Arthur will serve as past president and Lila (Creamer) Stevens ’01 of Beaumont will serve as president-elect.

New members of the board are Tania Castelan ’13 of Beaumont; Ernesto Alvarez, Jr. ’11 of Houston; Chris Graham ’90 of Huffman; Samon Tahir ’13, ’15 of Katy; Chris Kovatch ’02 and Dr. Tilisa Thibodeaux, Dean of the Reaud Honors College, of Orange; Charlee Chelette ’18, ’19 of Port Neches; Lisa Topping ’13, ’15 of Preston, England; Chris Ingram -93 of Silsbee; and Thaddeaus Green ’11 of Washington, D.C.

Returning board members include Brittnee (Rodriguez) Barnes ’12, Zachary Celeste ’11, Josh Davis ’11, ’15, ’19, Sheri (Horn) DelMage ’01, ’03, Nga “Tea” (Nguyen) Do ’08, Dr. Sandra (Thomas) Duhon ’78, Sharita Gardner ’12, Brandon Johnson ’08, Dawanna Jones ’06, ’11, Scott McKenney ’77, Todd Senters, Sr. ’96, Marilyn (Arline) Smith ’80, Lila (Creamer) Stevens ’01, and Daylyn Turner ’07 all of Beaumont.

Other returning board members are Ryan Dollinger ’14 of Big Spring; Linda (Seay) Allen ’02 of Buna; Brian Roberson ’09, ’10 of Houston; Jerry Wallace ’07, ’10, ’14 of Humble; Teri (Bayless) Hawthorne ’04 of Lumberton; Maegan Collins ’16, ’18 of Nederland; Cheryl (Boyd) Linscomb ’79, ’84 of Orange; Fred Vernon ’12, ’13 of Port Arthur; Emily (Everett) Allen ’98, ’04 and Steve Grantham ’82 of Sour Lake; and Scott Whitman ’06 of Vidor.

Alumni Advisory Board members serve three-year terms and support Lamar University and the Office of Alumni Affairs by bringing their diverse professional expertise and passion for their alma mater as they provide guidance and serve as advisors, advocates, and ambassadors. They work to promote Lamar University pride in their communities, and to develop and strengthen the bonds among alumni, students, and the university community. “I look forward to working with this talented group of individuals as we focus on advancing the university, enhancing the alumni experience, honoring traditions, and strengthening alumni involvement,” said Shannon Figueroa, Lamar University Director of Alumni Affairs.
