On Saturday, January 30, 2021, the department of New Student Leadership and Programs kicked off the spring semester with their annual student leadership conference for LU students.
If you aren't familiar with it, the Student Leadership Conference is an extensive three hour conference that aims to educate students on leadership and give them the proper tools to become a better leader on campus. The conference included a series of breakout sessions, round table discussions, presentations and interactive icebreakers to give students hands-on experience with leadership tactics. Presenters included staff from partnering departments across campus; STAR Services; Student Engagement; and several academic departments.
Although the leadership conference happens annually, students still have the opportunity to attend development workshops for their student organizations throughout the semester. For a list of NSLP services, programs and workshops, visit www.lamar.edu/leadership.
