Go Green Challenge: Green Commuting

sustainability-bike

Vehicles have a big impact on the environments air quality, so this month, please try to go green with your commute –– here are a few ideas:

Lose your keys

The easiest way to turn your commute green is by ditching your car keys and getting your steps –– yes, we mean walking! While this route may take a little longer, you're almost always guaranteed a great scenery on the way to your destination. Plus, it saves a little green in your pockets, too!

Take a bike

Dust off your old bicycle and take it for a spin. If you ride a bike on campus, did you know that we have a bike repair station in front of Gentry Hall? The Departments of Student Services and Sustainability are also looking into Bike Rental programs and Ride Share programs for campus.

Carpool

Grab a few of your Cardinal besties and carpool to campus! You could also take a ride share service like Uber or Lyft.

Take the LU Shuttle

If you're needing to trek across campus or to near by campus locations, take the LU Shuttle! If you aren't familiar with the routes, head to lamar.edu/police/shuttle-parking-traffic/index.html for a full list of shuttle pick-up and stop locations.
