Senior citizen course auditing is a state program used to encourage senior citizens to continue their education and keep involved with local colleges and universities. The program is designed to provide those who are 65 years of age or older the opportunity to register for a course audit at no charge.

A senior can take up to six hours per semester on a space-available basis in classes that also receive tax support. The deadline to register for a course audit is the census date for the term, but the application must be submitted by the ApplyTexas deadline. The deadlines can be viewed in the Academic Calendar.
