Le Grand Bal Postponed

Le Grand Bal, the annual fundraiser for the fine arts in the College of Fine Arts & Communication at Lamar Le Grand BalUniversity, has been postponed to Fri., March 12, 2021.

The Friends of the Arts (FOA) organization, which has organized the event annually since 1975, decided to postpone this year’s event in the interest of the health and safety of all guests, students and sponsors. With the ongoing uncertainty caused by the coronavirus, the organizers felt this is the most prudent option at this time.

The event will retain the format planned for 2020 – An Evening in Tuscany, and Ms. Sandra Clark and Mr. David Cargill will be honored that night as planned. This year’s chairs, Kara and Zack Hawthorn, kindly agreed to continue serving in this capacity for the rescheduled event.

The art exhibition that annually accompanies Le Grand Bal is already available for view in the Dishman Art Museum and will remain so for a few weeks. The public is welcome to visit individually or in small groups. The artwork is for sale at the base price for the next three weeks.
