Lamar University Host Seminar in India

The Department of Speech and Hearing at Lamar University along with the Department of Speech and Hearing and the Department of Health Information at Manipal Academy of Higher Education jointly staged a collaborative seminar entitled International Symposium of Digital Technologies and Health in Karnataka, India.

This seminar is a result of ongoing research and teaching collaborations with Manipal Academy. Initiatives between the departments are linked to the research program funded by the LU Presidential Visionary Initiative. Dr. Vinaya Manchaiah, Dr. Monica Harn, and Dr. William Harn presented topics on digital therapeutics, electronic media and healthcare, and institutional support. Other presenters included Prof. Rajendra Pratap Gupta - President of Disease Management Association of India, Dr Harishchandra Hebbar - Chief Executive Officer Manipal University Technology, Ms. Avishikta Sarkar - IT Senior Manager Center Practitioner, Shri Ganga Prasad - Center Head of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, and Mr. Sandeep Patil H G - Executive Director Applied Cognition System Pvt. Ltd.

Students and faculty engaged in a proof-of-concept competition and students and faculty met to discuss research initiatives. Both Lamar University and Manipal Academy of Higher Education look forward to productive, innovative, and international scholarship.
