Montagne Center serving as emergency shelter
Lamar University’s Montagne Center is currently serving as an American Red Cross Shelter in response to Sabine River flooding leading to evacuations in Orange and surrounding communities.
LU’s facilities management prepared the facility for use by the American Red Cross under short-term contract.
Red Cross personnel will manage the shelter operations.
Citizens needing transportation to the shelter from Orange may call 211 or (409) 745-9780 and (409) 745-9777.
