Forums set for dean of College of Fine Arts and Communication

The search for the next dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Lamar University has reached the final stages of a process that began in September 2014, when an advisory search committee consisting of representatives of Lamar University faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders was formed.  

The university engaged Greenwood/Asher & Associates, Inc. of Miramar Beach, Florida, to assist in the search process.

Four finalists screened and selected as qualified for campus visits by the advisory search committee will participate in campus open forums for students, faculty and staff, March 9-23.

Mark Rollins, chair of the Performing Arts Department, Washington University, will meet March 9.  James “Tony” Crowley, director of the School of Art, Illinois State University, will meet March 11. Derina Holtzhausen, director of the School of Media and Strategic Communications, Oklahoma State University, will meet March 12. Steven Block, chair of the Department of Music, University of New Mexico, will meet March 23. Each forum will be held 2:30 p.m.- 3:45 p.m. on the 6th Floor of the Mary and John Gray Library.
