Digital Ticket is a free one-day conference in Beaumont, Texas centered on digital learning and the latest in educational technology. Sessions will be offered that focus on a host of tools, strategies, and innovative ideas pertaining to digital learning and the electronic classroom.
This is Digital Ticket's eleventh year, and we look forward to a chance to build on the success of previous years. The event is sponsored by Lamar University’s Division of Digital Learning and Department of Data, Analytics, Reporting and Assessment (DARpA).
As AI fluency becomes an essential professional standard, faculty expertise is critical to preserving the relevance and integrity of university credentials. Transforming passive AI use into workplace competence requires the mentorship of disciplinary experts who bridge classroom learning and career readiness.
This session frames higher education as a sandbox in which each course, guided by faculty, becomes a proving ground for students to apply AI responsibly and effectively in real-world contexts

Kimberly A. Conner, JD, is the Director of University Innovation at Lamar University. With a professional background spanning six years in complex litigation and over 20 years as a classroom educator, she brings a unique lens to the integration of emerging technologies. Kimberly's work included launching the AI in Teaching and Learning Symposia and engaging over 1,800 students in foundational AI courses. She believes faculty guidance is essential to transforming AI from a generic shortcut into a disciplinary asset that preserves the integrity of university credentials.
