Thank you for your submission.

Remember that with effort and persistence, you can stay in or return to good academic standing! Keep the following in mind:

  • BE COMMITTED to achieving academic success.
  • UNDERSTAND what academic probation/suspension means and what grades you’ll need to earn to return to good academic standing.
  • IDENTIFY the challenges that led to your grades.
  • CONSIDER all your options – including adjusting your course load, cutting back on working hours, cutting back on extracurricular activities, repeating courses, etc.
  • KNOW the “Add, drop, and withdraw” deadlines as well as other academic policies that pertain to you.
  • LET OTHERS ASSIST YOU and take advantage of student support services such as academic coaching, tutoring, personal counseling, and academic advising.
  • THINK POSITIVELY and WORK HARD! DON’T GIVE UP!

Next steps…

  1. Schedule a success appointment with your College Success Coach.
    • You are required to have TWO success appointments completed.
    • When it is time to schedule your success appointment, an email will be sent to your Lamar email account.
    • Your success appointment will cover your Cardinal Success Plan, review current policies and expectations while on academic probation, and provide registration support for the upcoming term.
  2. Monitor AND Track your current grades for each enrolled course this semester AND be prepared to show this information during your success appointment.
